Burp Cloth Turorial

Burp Cloth Tutorial

I love making Baby gifts! I especially love making them for myself! That way It's exactly what I want!

When I had my first son my favorite burp cloths were homemade and had one side that was flannel and one side that was terry cloth. So when I found out our second baby was a girl I had to make new burp cloths! For some of them I used cute receiving blankets with terry cloth and others I used flannel with terry cloth.

First cut the fabric to the size you would like it. I like long rectangles.

Sew the fabric inside out all the way around leaving one side open to flip it right side out.

 Trim all the excess material.

The side I left open. Turn it right side out.

Sew all the way around one more time to give it a finished look and you are all done!!

Non-Paper Towels Tutorial!

Non-Paper Towels Tutorial!!

I saw this idea on Pinterest but the link wouldn't work. So I made up my own pattern and went to work! But I do this with everything I make so it's not new to me. I made my first set for a friends wedding gift and posted a picture of the finished project on FaceBook. One of my friends asked me to make her a set so as I made her set I actually remembered to take pictures for my blog! This is only my 2nd post and my first tutorial! So Hopefully you can understand everything!

Materials!
  • Terry Cloth, I bought mine by the yard at Joann's
  • Any cute fabric of your choice!
  • Snap Pliers
  • Snaps
  • Thread
  • Sewing Machine

I think I used about a yard of each fabric. I cant remember how much fabric I bought. But it was either one yard or 1.5 yards.

I added snaps to mine. I borrowed the snap pliers tool from my mom. But if you don't have one you can order it Here

First cut your fabric to the size you want. I made mine about the size of a paper towel. A little smaller then 12"x12".

Sew your squares inside out. Sew all the way around leaving a big enough opening to turn them right side out.

Before turning them right side out trim the excess material.

Turn your squares right side out.

Now sew all around one more time to give it a finished look. I start at the opening and fold the material inward and then start my sewing. This way you wont be able to tell where the hole was or that you did it twice!

Now you add the snaps! I put 3 on each side and snapped them together as I went. Just to make sure they all worked and were put on correctly. This step is easy but time consuming!

3 Snaps

After they are all snapped together roll it up!!

The finished Product!!!
