Sawyer's 2nd Birthday
I have been told over and over for the past year that I need to start a blog! Every time I do something crafty or creative my friend reminds me again! So I have finally given in, Here is my first posting!
I decided on a Safari themed birthday party with Simba thrown in on the cupcakes (Simba is his very favorite!) for my son who turned 2! I had fun preparing for this party!
I'll start with my CupCakes, who doesn't like dessert first?
I bought edible cupcake toppings that had Simba's picture on them. Then I cut strips of paper and covered the wrapper to give it a different look. plus it was cheaper because I already had the printed paper on hand and didn't want to go buy new wrappers.
For my cupcake stand, I already hand a 5$ card board one from his first birthday party. So I added my own paper to make it match my theme. And at the last minute decided to add his picture as the topping and it turned out so cute!
I made a rainbow with the fruit! Just layer onto to sticks!
I called these Zebra buttons! These were so yummy and everybody loved them at the party!
You put a single layer of square pretzels, then an unwrapped Hershey's hug on top. Bake in the oven at 200 for 4-5 mins. until the chocolate is shiny and soft (but NOT melting - they should still hold their shape).
Then you pull them out and carefully press a M&M onto each one. Allow to cool completely, a few mins in the fridge works perfectly!
Sawyer had a blast playing with all his friends!
Thanks for reading my first Blog!!
